Sprinkler System Revamp in Michigan | Timer Upgrade, Backflow & Sprinkler Repairs

Complete Sprinkler System Revamp in Southeast Michigan At Hunter HydroTech LLC, we recently completed another major sprinkler system overhaul for a homeowner in Southeast Michigan. The system had multiple issues, including faulty wiring, outdated components, poor sprinkler coverage, and several zones that were not operating correctly. Instead of performing temporary fixes, we worked through the entire system to restore proper operation and improve long-term reliability. New Smart Irrigation Timer Installation The existing controller was outdated and difficult to program. We upgraded the property with a new smart irrigation controller, giving the homeowner: Easier programming Improved watering schedules Better water efficiency Future WiFi upgrade capability Greater control over seasonal adjustments Modern irrigation controllers help save water while keeping lawns and landscapes healthier throughout the season. Wire Tracking and Valve Repairs Several zones were not functioning properly due to damaged wiring and failed connections. Using professional wire tracking equipment, we located the problem areas, repaired damaged wires, and restored communication between the controller and valves. Electrical issues are one of the most common causes of sprinkler system failures, and proper diagnostics can save homeowners from unnecessary replacements. Backflow Replacement The irrigation system also required a backflow replacement. The backflow preventer plays a critical role in protecting your water supply from contamination and ensuring your sprinkler system operates safely. After replacing the backflow assembly, we tested the system to ensure proper operation and restored water flow to the irrigation system. Commercial-Grade Hunter PGP Rotor Upgrades Several sprinkler heads had poor coverage and uneven watering patterns. We upgraded portions of the system with commercial-grade Hunter PGP rotors to improve: Water distribution Coverage consistency Durability Long-term reliability Overall system efficiency Proper sprinkler head selection can significantly improve the health and appearance of a lawn while reducing water waste. Why System Revamps Matter Many older irrigation systems have multiple issues that develop over time: Broken sprinkler heads Leaking fittings Failing valves Wiring problems Outdated controllers Poor water coverage Inefficient scheduling A complete system inspection and targeted upgrades can often restore a sprinkler system without requiring a full replacement.
